ACLI ROME donation
Every child holds within them a special, unique and precious music.
The educational community has the task of helping to make it resonate, because every note is a promise of beauty and future.
This is the heart of the solidarity project “Christmas Harmonies in Movement”, dedicated to children in conditions of weakness.
The initiative is part of the commitment of the ACLI of Rome aps to combat the multiple dimensions of poverty: economic, educational, relational and health.
Solidarity has an inestimable value and gives the best of itself when we do not act alone, but together, as happens in a large orchestra that unites different talents and instruments.
This project represents the fruit of great teamwork, inspired by Pope Francis' invitation to “establish lasting connections” to weave networks of hope.
“Christmas Harmonies in Motion” is, in fact, the result of the collaboration between the ACLI of Rome and the Department of Major Events of Rome Capitale thanks to the collaboration with the company Bontempi which donated over 2,000 new educational toys, including pianos, electronic violins, karaoke amplifiers and stage microphones.
The donated musical instruments are not simple toys, but real magical objects symbolizing creativity, movement, encounter and imagination.
In recent weeks, the volunteers of the ACLI of Rome have crossed the outskirts of the city, to give a smile to the most fragile children, planting a small seed of hope, in view of the imminent Jubilee.
Among the most significant stops on this journey of solidarity, the Don Guanella Institute, the Wakatuya Association, the Tor più Bella Association, the Santa Gianna Beretta Molla Pastoral Center, the Basilica of Santa Sofia, where the toys were distributed to Ukrainian families living in Rome, to those fleeing the war and also sent to children living in Ukraine.
A special moment that will remain in the hearts of the ACLI of Rome was the one at the Dispensary of Santa Marta, a place of welcome and concrete brotherhood.
The delivery of toys to the families who turn to this place is a symbolic gesture, a gift that the ACLI of Rome wish to offer to Pope Francis on the occasion of his 88th birthday.
The Holy Father is a beacon of hope, a point of reference who with his example teaches us to live solidarity as a daily act. With this gesture, the ACLI of Rome wish to ideally embrace him, renewing their commitment to be "pilgrims of hope" every day.
Taking care of the most fragile is the most authentic gesture to build a more just and supportive world, where no one feels excluded and every child can discover and make their own music resonate. This is the true essence of Christmas: a universal call to care, closeness and hope, to make the present and the future a place of light and shared humanity.
